I have a 570 OC'd (see sig). What tangible benefit would I get from going to a 1.5GB 580 and then OC'ing that?

Talk to me in numbers I can understand, like FPS in Crysis between the two?

Thank you!

The benefit would be negligible if you don't play at 2560x1600 or above. For 1920x1080 a GTX570 should be able to sustain until 28nm flagship cards are launched.

At your overclock, your GTX570 is performing as good as a GTX580... But then you can overclock the GTX580, you may gain 10% (ish) more FPS, certainly not worth the outlay.

You won't see any significant gains. The 570 is an extremely powerful card, I would wait for Kepler/7000 series if you want to upgrade, or add in another 570 for SLi. The question is, do you really need it? What resolution do you play on?

I play at 1920x1200.

Thanks for all the advice. So it sounds like I would gain maybe 4-5 FPS in Crysis.

I will wait for the 28nm cards because power consumption is the main problem with today's cards imo.

I noticed a difference going from a OC'd 570 to a OC'd 480 :)

gaming felt smoother(1900) - especially at higher AA

I'm guessing due to probably higher minimum frame rates

I could also get away with in some games 8 and 16xAA which I couldn't with the 570

Personal choice I guess, but I'd never upgrade a graphics card until it was AT LEAST 18 month old, just not worth throwing all the cash at it.

Recommend SLI 1 gtx480 to 2 gtx480 was a massive upgrade allowing 32xAA in nearly all of my games and allowing me to experience metro 2033 in 3d vision at maxed settings with only some low fps parts. 1920x1080 is all im playing at but 3d vision spanks the cards.
