Look at it this way - she let you get a 360 and PS3 so why shouldn't she have a Wii?
It's not for you so why ask if you need one?
Also she might not want to use a console in the front room to get fit. We have a Wii which is in the bedroom on our last CRT telly and the wife uses it for Wii fit and the (awesome) Mario games.
I'm not Wii bashing but get the Kinect it's cheaper and more fun.

Definately this. The Wii is a gimmick. Yes they sold by the bucket load, but I bet 50% of them just sit for months collecting dust without use.I'm not Wii bashing but get the Kinect it's cheaper and more fun.
Surely though the same potential is there for Kinect too? Its very much following the same path as Wii currently - just too early to say I guess...Definately this. The Wii is a gimmick. Yes they sold by the bucket load, but I bet 50% of them just sit for months collecting dust without use.
Unless your wife will start playing Nintendo games such at Mario, Donkey King, Zelda, etc as well as Wii fit then no. Get get a Kinect or PS3 Move instead.
depends if she want to use the wii when ur playing the ps3 or xbox? having all three machines is a good idea as it gives you more choice and will keep the missus quiet. The real question is who is gonna be playing what and how many tv there are in the house?
