I did a similar thing to IDE cables years ago, split them up and wrapped them up in tape (at least I used black tape!)

Look forward to seeing it finished - not a bad build :)
 
I guess your right, but why have you built this, when you got a very good (and better) PC in your sig?
 
I sold a laptop i had, and i have a lot of mates over that love to game and my gf stays over a lot and she games too, so i have 2 gaming rigs setup, will take a pic of the whole thing later
 
Ok i has it all setup and booting, am trying to install vista ultimate 64 onto the new drive, it unpacks ok, then gets to expanding files - gets to about 20% then i get an irq based bsod D: anyone know why this is?
 
getting a bsod -

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0X000000D1 etc etc

and notably it always says nvstor.sys seems to be causing the gpf

can anyone shed any light ont this
 
eh sorted it, somehow a 32bit os went straight on, its not reading 500mb of ram but i cba to fix it now :P

nice! i just got my case last week, ordered Mobo/Pro/Mem today. So hoping to get some pics up as i start the build :D
 
Ok vista 64 installed, i changed dvd drive and it just went straight on :o all drivers etc installed, 4gb mem detected - 4ghz overclock on it :O its running as my home server and backup gaming rig nicely :) now to save for a new graphics card!
 
Portal(1/2), TF2, WoW, Cod4/waw/mw2/bo, amnesia TDD (favourite), Dragon age 2, fallout NV, bulletstorm, dead space 2, mass effect, UT3, most "total wars", grid, dirt2, anything with great graphics mainly :P
