Hey everyone,

I haven't seen one of these up close, but a friend pointed them out as being nicely priced and 'better than you might expect for a hyundai'.

Looks like a Ford Kuga, but with a different badge on the front, much cheaper and packed full of extras that would cost £££ big time as options on other makes.

Anyone had a go in one, or got any thoughts.

Cheers.

LOL.
Never heard that phrase before.

What do you mean by it?

Nothing im kidding, i call all those Hyundai things corn beef tins, they used to look like a corn beef tin :)

I just cant see the point in buying one, they are cheap to buy then depreciate to nothing in 3 years.

If you want one of them, spend the same money on a 1 or 2 year old Ford equivalent which is going to be better to drive and hold some value, also being a year or 2 old someone else has taken that first nasty kick in the balls with depreciation.

I tried the ix35 and the Kia Sportage.

Both felt very well built drove quite well and both have great warranty.

Also tried the Ford Kuga - felt like a tin can in comparison. Just felt like a jacked-up Focus.

Changed my mind in the end about buying that type of car in the end, but probably would have gone with the Kia.

New Sportage looks really good on the road, as does the ix35. Reviews for both have been pretty good.

Doesn't the Kia have an extra 2 years of warranty over the Hyundai though?

did the same. Kuga was not near the other two, i was genuinely surprised by how good the Kia and Hyundai felt in comparision. depreciation is a concern though i have to admit, but with a decent warranty they hold up ok.

Ford build quality and choice of materials has never been amazing. I've never been a fan, anyway.

The Kuga is really not that great IMHO, it feels cheap.

Hyundai still have a little stigma attached as you've read but fact of the matter is, they are on their up in many ways. Search for Hyundai in the motors section, theres a thread on the brand that I created a couple of months ago and was bumped quite recently

The Kia has 7 years or 100,000 miles. But first 3 years is unlimited, so I think you could have a fault at 2 years 11 months at 130,000 miles and still be covered.

The Hyundai is a straight 5 years unlimited.

Do they do a de badged version :D So you can pretend its not made by Fray Bentos
