Madeleine McCann's parents

Erm, is this not a public discussion forum, thus anything that is posted is the business of anyone who wants to get involved.

General discussion is about as public as you can get on this forum, anyone can sign up and reply , and anyone can read it. Its not as though we can create a thread that only certain people can read and reply.

No but it has nothing to do with you so move a long and stop poking your nose in maybe?

I don't think this a reasonable statement to be honest.

It had nothing to do with you either but you chipped in.

I realise you might have been trying to be peacemaker, but it doesn't work that way all comments are open to quoting and interjection.

I'm probably going to be lynched here but the McCann's are two moron's who I'm sick hearing about in the news. This thread is good because there's a lot of info that I didn't know before but yeah, the McCann's are a waste of space and I would love to know how much money they've made since the disappearance of Maddie.

I would love Maddie to be found and for the parents to be put behind bars as anyone who leaves their children behind while going out are a disgrace! I'm shocked at how or why nothing has been done. Does anyone know if the social or the like got involved when this first happened?

Another thing that sticks in my mind, was Gerry McCann stating that at some point whilst checking on his children during that night, was that he felt a presence of someone in the room behind the door, if then that was the case why as a parent would you not investigate that?

I can not remember the source where I read this but I have not heard it being disproved, for me this confirms that all is not right with their version of events.

Without reading all 15 pages I'm unsure if this has been posted but the original inspector on the case believes Maddie heard her father outside chatting to the family friend, walked out of bed, climbed on the sofa under the window and went to lean on the window, falling down the gap between the sofa and the window. He believes she then hit her head (couldn't reach + the Calpol used to keep the kids asleep) and they then "got rid" of the body.

The reasons:
1. One person couldn't get out of the window holding a child. They said the front door was locked and it's impossible to open without the key or damage to the door.
2. The only prints on the window were of Kate's. More than likely made when she opened the window.
3. Two dogs which were brought in have solved over 200 cases and have never been wrong. They detected blood under the window and in the boot of the car.

I always wondered why the parents always spent so much money on PR. At the end of the day this poor girl is more than likely dead. Justice does really need to be done but one could argue that the guilt they have to live with is the justice.

they have always looked dodgee to me, I mean I can understand the devastation of losing a child is probably the worst feeling ever. However having said that, something doesnt seem right with them. I mean writing a book and things is the last thing I would be doing, if they want to raise the profile of the situation, writing a book is the last way of doing it, setting up websites (which I believe they did), or some other way would be better approach.

For they seem more bothered about the publicity and writing books then the actual ordeal of missing Madeline, if in fact she is missing.

Seems like some cover up job or something is going on. Needless to say, why take your kids on Holiday if your gonna dump them why you go out and have fun for yourself, they would have been better leaving her at a grandparents or something

Thought springs to mind, would they get quite so much media coverage if she was some fat minger in a shellsuit?
Or if she were the wife of say, a mechanic? Or if the family were of asian, african or oriental origin? - Imo, probably not.

I wouldn't wish the loss of a child on anyone (unless said child was hideously ugly, stupid, noisy or demonstrating signs of becoming a chav ;) ). But the hypocritical media frenzy regarding the McCanns does rankle somewhat.

I would like to think that I would not even consider the idea of leaving any three children under the age of ten out of my eye and earshot without proper supervision.

I do hope that the little girl has just been placed on the adoption black market and is currently being lovingly cared for by kind but sterile multimillionaires somewhere in the Middle East. And I do feel sorry for the pain the McCanns must be going through.

But I must be honest and say that I have more sympathy for the hundreds of parents out in the UK who are struggling to find their missing children without the benefit of Papal benediction, Transworld Publishing and the entire staff of Rupert Murdoch. The entire thing puts me in mind of the distaste I felt for the media circus surrounding Jade Goody's death.

I actually wonder and have wondered just how many children in the UK go missing every year?
Or over the last 20 years how many missing children are there that didn't turn up dead?

Hit, nail, head. A quick google suggests that 275,000 people go missing every year, 100,000 of them children (sounds stupidly high!). How many of them make it to the news? If she was a little Muslim kid she wouldn't have made the papers (unless it was perhaps 'darkies don't look after their kids like white people' as the headline). Wiki seems to have a term for it, Missing white woman syndrome.

I work with someone that knows someone who lives near to the parents; I won't say how near as I don't want to start any neighborhood wars and what they said about them can't be said in public but it reinforces the point of view of the many on here, even before Madeleine went missing.

My personal view is that they are going to burn in hell and deserves to; hopefully I hope I'm wrong but.....

Its been 4 years or something and most people forgot about it until they decided to release a book and remind everyone of what happened.

I dont know what happened and Im not defending anyone here, but if they did have something to do with her disappearance, and they still have the balls to remind people and cash in on it years later, in outright defiance that they can never be caught....surely no one can be that evil?

I mean surely if they did do it they would want people to just forget about it and move on and stop pointing fingers at them but now they reminded us all and the fingers are back up.

So you know about hearsay & gossip.
If it can't be said in public it must be made up.

In the UK? 100k children reported missing each year?

What I am really after is just how many kids, lets say 16 and younger are still missing after lets say a month, and not found dead.
From the website for missing people I could find, most seemed to be girls 14-18 who had not been in the UK long and suddenly disappeared, which isn't remotely an equivalent case to the McCanns.
