MSI Frozr III 6950 to 6970 ??

Ok so my buddy just bought a MSI Frozr III 6950 and I was trying to unlock it last night but it failed. As soon as it enters windows the monitor gives the no signal message.

The weird thing is that any time I modify the bios with RBE, even just to uncap the max 900MHz frequency, it seems to fail. Any tips on why it's doing this?

As far as I know, the only way to unlock the 6950 Frozr III is to use wizzards 6970 files, you can find the link in the sticky.

Okay just flashed the card with the 6970 sapphire BIOS and it failed to POST at all.

And I can't even uncap the frequency limits in RBE for some reason???

MUCH ANGGEEERR!!!!!!

im not sure if all cards are guarentee'd to unlock, maybe just the card?

RBE won't work with the frozr III iirc, try these files from wizards post:

only way to know for sure is ask msi

This card used to be unlockable a while ago, but people have been reporting that the batch sold last week were not unlockable - simply still 1408 SP if we only modify the conditional jump check byte and the checksum byte. TPU BIOS'es don't seem to work either. Don't know if it can be resolved in the near future.

Sure I read somewhere that more recent versions had been laser cut. May have been on OCN and just hearsay so don't hold me to it
