My trigger finger is getting really itchy! not sure if i should wait for more z68 boards before buying (MSI and extreme6?), what do you guys think of this build?

also, not sure about the ssd or spend extra £50 and get the 6970 to save the hassle of unlock... or can i get a better card at 200-250 mark?

thanks guys!

ps. pc is gonna be used for 30% hd playback, 30% browsing, 20% photoshop and 20% gaming. heavy multitasking. 24/7 pc

will upgrade my current old dell 20" ips with a new 2711 possibly when money permits.

A water cooler such as the Corsiar H50/60, Antec kuhler wont have any issues.

But why not just change the ram.

Will you use any of the z68 features over a solid P67 platformed board?

£40-50 to be saved there if you don't need Hybrid graphics (Who does?) or the new Intel SSD stuff (Which you wont as you have a dedicated SSD)

As mentioned previously, just chuck XMS3 in it. Runs at spec undervolted at 1T without hassle so seems a waste to buy "better".

edited, thanks for the heads up about the cooler not fitting! this is why i need to post it... i wanted the ram for the low voltage and timming (+ looks cool...), will overclock it, so the lower it is, the more room ill have, i guess.

changed to the d14, bit more expensive but its ok, better performance :)

any ideas about my ssd and gfx card decision?

Thanks.

XMS3 under volts? is it not worth the extra 20 for the ripejaw then?

SSD is as fast as it gets, so cant bring myself to suggest anything else.

GPU choice is good, it can be flashed easily, for a 6950 with a custom cooler, then the ASUS DirectCUII and the MSI TwinFozrIII can be flashed too.

i thought i'd get the new tech with z68, most reviews said no point upgrading, but if u r purchasing should get z68 for such small price difference, not 100% sure about the mobo brand though as msi ones r still not out. choice is thin atm.

stulid: i might go with the cheaper ram and get 6970, is 6970 worth the extra 50? i.e. can i get a better gfx card for 250...

i wanted a modular psu really, bit of a neat freak!

thanks guys :)

looking at the reviews i dont think i actually need the 6970, dont play enough games to justify it! so will stick with a 6950, but i might get a ax850 so i have option to crossfire in the future without upgrading psu.

only thing left to fully decide is the mobo...
