Has my hotmail account been hacked ??

Hello,

Just logged into my hotmail account to find my display name has been changed, profile picture changed am 1000 contacts added to my list :eek:

I have changed my password and deleting the contacts as we speak, 25 at a time its taking agers :mad:

no way to remove all contacts.

What do people gain from doing stuff like this ??

Was probably going to be used to spam, don't know why the password wouldn't have been changed though.

Yep i thought that was strange, the hacker/bot not changing my password so i cant login :confused:

All the contacts they added are @yahoo.com e-mails address as well.

I too had my old hotmail addy hacked in the last week or 5 and has been used to spam my contacts list all to hell. I've now removed all personal detail and info (not that there was anything other than my name) and closed the account as it was rather ancient! Oh and my password was not changed either, very odd.

Got some emails today from MS, someone has been trying to recover my password. Welp.

Probably phished rather than hacked, one method much easier and swifter than the other.
What was the old password that you've now changed?
