Finally got enough conquest points and got my 359 wand straight to ilvl 348 avgShame I still suck at dps in hc and get asked to leave. lol
what do you play?
There are so many out there, it's impossible to suggest specifics - everyone has their own preferences. To me, the absolute minimum would be:
Omen
Recount
DBM (DeadlyBossMods)
Gatherer
Added to that, a unit frame mod (X-PERL is a good one to start with, and many people stick with it throughout) a combat text mod and a bag mod (Bagnon served me well for a while, and I still keep it installed for the Bagnon Forever tooltips, even though I don't use the rest of it any more). It may also be worth looking in to full UI mods like Tukui or LUA - these can be tweaked to customise them to your preference, but come as a fairly solid package in their own right. The best way to do it is just to experiment.

And middle of Cho'Gall from earlier that night, which better shows the combat text mod I use, Parrot:
Incoming healing/damage circles round the left, outgoing healing/damage round the right, buffs/debuffs/cooldowns scroll up from the top and important messages come up bigger and shake in the middle of their respective areas. In motion, it looks sick.
We're 2/13 down in HC content now, working on Atra next. One of our server recruits, Orjan (or Jeff), has posted up a Youtube video of our Chimaeron HC kill, but I can't link it here because Saith made it unsuitable for public viewing. Got to agree really, the community of WoW used to be fantastic in the early days but now it just seems to be full of prats.
No offense intended for other posters in here, there are still gems in the community but they seems to be a dime a dozen.

Due to the PSN being down I thought I would see what the new world looks like.
I am trying a ten day trial on this and am totally lost in the new world. How do you get to the new areas?
Where should I be heading as my old character is L80.
I got to some underwater world but when I went back to Daralan I couldn't find my way back.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Go to Org (not sure where to go if you are scum alliance)
In Org you should find a questgiver that give you a quest from a noticeboard. If you do the quests from the board as you level it will introduce you to the new levels.
If you HS from vashjir before you get to the phase shift and get the boat saved I believe you have to do it again although not sure. I would suggest Hyjal is a nice starting area.
Was playing fire swapped to arcane and reforged correctly with some advice from a friend now hitting 10k and up instead of 5.5k

you wont notice much difference at lvl 80, start a new char and lvl it a bit, then you will!
also there is/was no portals in dalarin, org is where all the portals are at, run up to the billboard in org near the ah, that should set you straight (@lvl80)

9k is still high but easy to get, the feat was ment to be a feat. But now its an easy grind. But we all have different opinions
Jack of all trades, master of none and theyre utility means they really shouldnt be able to outshine a dedicated class. Otherwise whats the point in having dedicated DPS classes.
Ah the Jack of all trades comment, true, this was the case before the later expansions when you couldn't play feral DPS as it was so poor.
Just downloaded and installed this UI really like it but keep getting errors any one know how to stop this?

What exact ui do you use Dead? That's a really good layout.
@ Hedge. If you are Horde the re-roll guild is on there.
That pack is massively out of date now and I'm not surprised it errors.
Have you installed it and then ran the curse client to make sure they all get updated to latest versions? I'm pretty sure though that cartographer got discontinued totally just before Cataclysm.
Could probably work through the other errors and replace with similar addons if you had the patience.

No it was the whole UI that kept getting errors.
The combat text mod is Parrot. You can do all sorts of awesome stuff with it - you can make the healing done to you fountain out the top and the damage done by you/to you sparkle out to either side, scroll cooldowns from top to bottom across your character, anything - it's pretty sweet. The text font comes from the TelUI skins pack that's reskinned my Omen & Recount to fit in with the rest of the UI.
Basic UI is Tukui with a little fiddling here and there. I've since switched the threat and alt power bar (respective of boss fights - corruption in the Cho'Gall fight, Onyxia's raid-wipe buildup, sound level for Atramedes, that sort of thing) around, so the threat is the larger bar on the left and the alt power bar is on the right, under the loot window. That loot window shows all gains - rep, XP, tokens from cooking or TB dailies, honour etc., and my bags open in one frame of the same width, anchored above the alt power bar and overlapping the loot window. It was a but of a headache getting the chat window to resize properly - simply plugging in a direct width caused it to stretch out in both directions, so the start of the chat window was off the edge of the screen. I had to modify some core values to get everything lined up properly. Quickslot bars are managed by Bartender.
If anyone knows exactly where I need to look to make the background panels for Omen & Recount solid rather than transparent, I'd very much appreciate it. No luck with fiddling myself yet, but I've not really spent any time on it.
Edit: Also, Hedge/Handlebar was guilded about a week ago

how do you make tukui work? I'm not even sure which certain bits and peices to download because there is that bloody much of it
Next time you are on I might need to get you to walk me through everything, if you don't mind of course. I just use Titan nomad blizz frames which isnt great.

No probs, can help you out with it if you like. From the Tukui website you can download a full package (https://github.com/downloads/tukz/Tukui/t13.13.zip - latest version) and use that as a base to work from. You can find most things you need on the forums, but feel free to hit me up if you want any extra tips
Edit: It might help to disable all your other addons and enable them piecemeal once you've got Tukui up - it's got a lot of stuff built in that works pretty well with the UI, and you'll want to keep these in place instead of overwriting/duplicating them.
