Looking at an RS4

What's your view on vomit on car seats?

Sorry OP!

well its a matter of controversy vomit on the one hand its worse than a fart because of the obvious smell implications, however after a good valet and freshen some say its cleared the problem.

However on the other hand on a leather as apposed to cloth seat its open to a whole new level of controversy, myself personally id rather have the vomit (once removed) from a leather seat than a well farted on seat, however cloth now, especially velour im not too sure....

you may be able to get this guy down a little

I would have thought the RS4 will cost more to run as they seem to go wrong more then the M3

Im really torn with the M3; its a car Ive been thinking about for the last year but something has happened recently that makes me want to go for the Audi over it. Plus at my price range Im not sure I can get exactly what I want. Silver and black cars are out of the equation and it needs heated seats.

Thats a 2001 B5 RS4, 10 years old.

I am looking at B7's and comparing them to an E92 M3.

Im not looking at keeping the car for 5 years so what its worth after 1-2 years is more important to me.

Yes thats a B5 RS4 thats 10 years old, but the 2007 B7 RS4 your looking at is 4 years old.

6 years time it will be 10 years old and be 2 or 3 generations old and worth <15k as well.

The point im trying to make is that with a new B8 RS4 on the way, B7 RS4 values have far from bottomed out and is going to depreciate just as much as the E92 m3 is - something you discounted because you said its got further to depreciate.

If your not looking at owning it beyond 1 to 2 years why not look at the M3 ? the F30 3 series isn't due till next year and the M3 will be even further after that. You may not see a new M3 till well into 2013 or beyond.

Sorry DM but Im not a Jag person unless its the XKR. Not to say I dont like them, I think theyre fantastic but theyre not for me just yet :)

Then try an XKR i just cant see the appeal of an RS4 any more i really cant.

I dont see a new RS4 being released within the next year. RS4 prices have held very well for the last year or so with very little depreciation compared to the E92 M3's.

i seriously think your wrong if you think the RS4 is more depreciation proof than than an E92 M3

Going by the depreciation values of B5s VS E46s he is right. A 2001 B5 RS4 can still be a comfortable £15k motor. You can get early E46s for half that...

I know, but the RS4 ticks boxes for me and I want a fast Audi.

Fast audis NEED a turbocharger or two in my book. Does a earlier RS6 not float your boat?

Not really, Ive read about how much they cost when they go wrong and would never go for one without a warranty. Plus Id prefer a manual gearbox rather than an automatic. Epic cars though, but a little past it I think.

im going to bed soon but i cant help wondering, perforated leather or smooth from a fart point of view :D
