Crysis 1 making my screen blurry

So I've just installed Crysis 1, installed the latest patches (1.2.1), updated my graphics drivers (GTX 460) and Crysis won't let me play at 1920 x 1080 for some reason. Also when I close the game, all of the text is blurry, for example when I open Firefox, all the text is fuzzy and not clear as it used to be.

Any idea why these two problems are happening and how I can fix them?

EDIT; I've restarted my computer and the text is still fuzzy..

Did you install patch 1.2 before you installed 1.2.1? You need to do that.

hows your monitor connected to your graphics card? what kind of cable?

My monitor is connected via HDMI from the graphics card to my HD monitor.

And the resolution is 1080p - 1920 x 1080, refresh rate 60hz.

I can't understand how Crysis has managed to change some settings and made all text blurry even when I haven't loaded the game upon restarting my computer.

Try changing your res to something else then changing it back

Does everything look Anti-Aliased? Check in your video card control panel that AA is off.

How do I check that out? I'm in the Nvidia Control Panel right now

Also, google has changed, there aren't any lines appearing on the page?

After updating grpahics drivers did you rerun the windows performance index?

Make sure your resolution and refresh rate are set correctly for you monitor as well.

I didn't do anything with the windows performance index and my monitor has always been set at the same resolution and has been perfect. But as soon as I started playing Crysis and installed the latest drivers everything messed up.

I've done a system restore to yesterday and everything is back to normal. But do you think this will happen everytime I try and play Crysis? :confused:

This will be your problem. Try playing without the latest Drivers?

Yeah I tried playing but Crysis wouldn't let me play at 1920 x 1080. The highest it would go up to was 1600 x something.

So I guess it's the drivers? but that shouldn't really effect something like screen text surely?

I've installed the new drivers and everything is fine which means Crysis somehow messes up my resolution/monitor settings..

Nonono, your PC is fine. Crysis just melted your retinas.

There's scroll arrows on the resolution dropdown list. Scroll down and find your resolution. I had the same problem

Ok so I've installed all the patches 1.1, 1.2 and 1.2.1. Installed the latest Nvidia driver and there isn't any fuzzy text anymore..

BUT..

When I click "new game" and start to play, it loads about 11% of the game and then just stops working and is forced to close down.

Any idea why?

Could you try a slightly earlier saved game?

Maybe saved game is corrupt?
