So I've been trying to flash my Sapphire 5770 to fix an issue with it staying in lower clocks, but I can't seem to get into the ATIflash programme.

I have made a bootable USB with "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" put in all the necessaries files, set my motherboard to boot from the USB first, but still it just goes straight to windows like it would normally.

Any help? Have tried other USB sticks to no avail.

Why not disconnect all drives therefore it can't get to windows and try the USB stick again.
You've definitely made it a bootable usb drive and made the tool an image, not just a file?

So I have to make ATIflash an iso? If I take out all the drives it tells me to insert boot device and reboot ect.

have you set the boot order for the USB stick to be first?

Yes I have.

Thanks.

Have tried with ATIflash as an iso but still nothing. Did notice a different bios message to what I normally see though, but to quick to read it.

Well I think I have tried about everything now, unless anyone else has any ideas I think this has me beaten.

When you select USB in bios, you may have to change the boot priority of your Hard drives, (so the usb stick is first).

Done this.

I'm thinking it must be that I've not made the stick bootable properly, anyone have any good guides or anything?

Here you go:

Be sure the key is unlocked and note the file system (FAT32). Also you have to let the utility install the system boot files (make bootable), you cannot simply move those files to the thumb drive.

Ok this worked, but how do I run the programme I want from here? Anything I put in comes up with "Bad command or invalid file" I think.

Right, got it all working, tried to flash the card, got a "subsystem id mismatch" error, so I did a force flash, that bricked the card lol. All fixed now by force flashing old bios on, but would really like help on how to flash properly without that error :/
