hey guys,
basically ive picked out some stuff and i plan on upgrading my rig, which is rather dated now.

this is what i plan on purchasing (£650 is pretty much my maximum budget)but i have no idea about compatibility so i thought you guys could shine some light on it

PSU (i already have 600w silent PSU, but i ddont know if 600 is enough power :/ so i picked this 650 one :

RAM, Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel:

i also have a NZXT case but dont know which model and run on windows 7 professional 64bit. i feel really lost when it comes to builds lol.
any help and recommendations are much appreciated :D

Do you have a heatsink that fits a socket 1156/1155?

Otherwise you will want a Retail CPU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-360-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1275 - which is actually cheaper, longer warranty.

6GB RAM is for socket 1366 i7 systems, you want a Dual channel kit in either 4GB or 8GB,

the motherboard is not very good either, did you want the opportunity to add a second graphics card for a Crossfire/SLI setup?

wow thanks for the fast replys!
ok so i changed the i5 to the other one and i changed to 8gb BUT id like to know if 8gb is worth it or should just stick with 4gb?
im not sure what PSU it is just says 600w silent power supply on my invoice.

If its for gaming? then 4GB is enough.

The above Motherboard supports SLI/Crossfire so you can add a second GPU later on if you desire, if you dont care about this? then use this one - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-167-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1906

If you can physically check your PSU for a label or model number and maker?

Does your case take a full size ATX motherboard? any pics inside and out?

yeah so it'll be for gaming, hoping to run upcoming games(witcher 2, BF3, skyrim etc.) on high setting.
ok i'll just have to crack the case open just be a sec :D

right so my PSU is an evo labs 700w! it says its intel 2.2 model p4, whatever that means lol

also i just picked that particular mobo because i thought it would go with the i5

Your case will take a normal sized board, so no reason to restrain yourself with a microATX board.
