World of warcraft I mean Star Wars Old Republic

It looks a lot better than I thought it would be :p

World of Warcraft is a winning formula - I wouldn't be too surprised if there were some similarities...

It will still never beat SWG Pre-CU though of course :p... Nothing will fill that void in my heart :p

Could be a win yeah, but what will the end game be like? that is the question, as most mmo's fail when it comes to end game content. :P

That looks dreadful...if the game ships in this state Bioware may as well be putting the final nails on their coffin. After all the hype this game's been having over the years you'd expect them to come up with something better =/

Most MMO's look like WoW.

The big turn off for me is the whole Old Republic setting, which I couldn't give a monkey's about... For me Star Wars will always be X-Wings, Han Solo and Princess Leia in a very plot necessary bikini. This is a big pile of Meh. I'm curious about how it will turn out however, and maybe even try it too.

I wonder if there will be any point in being anything other than a Jedi?

Indeed, Star Wars Galaxies used the Galactic Civil War setting to good effect, as did the X-Wing series of games.

It does seem to be a case of the Jedi Purge making any later settings inconvenient, despite the Clone Wars-esque visuals of the trailers.

Looks alright, i do like the sound effects and music bits even tho the timings are a bit iffy. The companion rushes ahead when he shouldnt i think is probably a bug and it did look a bit boring the start of the vid and the combat looks cool for first fight or two but looked very repetitive after that and looks like it could annoy if thats all ur gona do for the most part except for special attacks.

Also how crap did the lightsabre look when he made it (presume u cant make it urself just watch urself make a premade one).

Interface could have looked a bit better too. Bit too dark for my liking.

Hopefully by the time it goes f2p it will be nicely tuned and fun to play with a ton of content. Which is the only way i play mmos as there the only ones i play.

I saw 'binds on pickup' weapons. I /facepalmed.

*EVERYBODY* hates bind on pickup weapons that cant be traded. This is norhing but a lame copy pasta of WoW, how the heck can Bioware not develop their own game engines and mechanics anymore?

If they simply made an MMORPG using the mechanics of Baldur's Gate, everyone would want to buy and play that, but instead they are just copying WoW.

How unoriginal, yet another WoW clone that looks 6 years out of date. The sheep will still rejoice and love it no matter what though, but I'll be playing an original and innovative RPG fit for 2011 / 2012 called Guild Wars 2 whenever it is released instead.

Having some parallels with WoW is not a bad thing. But personally I wanted SWTOR to be something totally different and, gasp, refreshing.

It's one thing to take the bits of WoW which make it such a smooth MMO to play but it's another to pretty much clone elements.
