So first time posting here as I don't know much about cars and not even sure if I should be posting here but its the only forum I actively use.

but my dad's recently bought into this pyramid scheme to sell this stuff, I was wondering if this stuff actually works... or is it some kind of scam. What's worse is he's pretty much brainwashed by the possible business opportunity of the stuff and bought tons of it.

Usual answer: if it actually worked, Shell etc would be using it. I'm sure who ever sold this rubbish to the OPs dad will mutter darkly about conspiracies, but it's hardly that secret. And Shell could certainly buy out the manufacturer. Occam's razor: it's cobblers.

From their site:

Reduces Engines Octane Requirement - so you can use cheaper, lower-octane fuels and still enjoy the benefits of a higher octane.

Nice ill have to get some for the Supra then I can blitz around at full boost on 95RON with no adverse effects :P

Saves fuel up to 28%? God if only car manufacturers knew this! They could save hundreds of millions on R&D.

Increases engine power up to 20% - Right, watch out M3's - I'VE GOT NANOTECH POWER NOW!!!!

It amazes me that people still fall for this sort of rubbish.

He's never used or heard of this kind of thing before, plus money hasn't been so good in the last 5 years. So I think hes just trying to start up his business again. It just annoys me that even after I told him its a possible scam last week he still goes forth and buys it anyway because a supposed friend is also selling it, and insists it works.

Haven't got a clue yet as I live away from home, but from what my sister tells me the front room is full of it
