One month for £1 Xbox Live

Edit: looks like I can use my current membership - is it possible to turn off auto-renewal or cancel recurring subscription online now or do I still have to go to my bank and physically force them not to accept Microsoft's billing?

Not going to bother then...
They know they can add a button that says 'cancel subscription' but they won't do it. The last time I phoned them it took over an hour and I'm not going to jump through hoops of turd like that again.

At some point last year they had a 'turn off auto-renewal' function but they have removed it. They just make cancelling as hard and laborious as possible and I can't be bothered.

I had this exact same problem. The guy I was talking to said it was "for security".

Consider that you can enter your card details on the XBOX, and that XBOX saves card details so anyone at your house can just press X and buy whatever they want.. ..this contradiction made me very angry.

yeah did this this morning, only managed to get 3 months before my bank blocked the transactions because they thought it was fraud. I suppose it shows that my bank are actually doing what they are supposed to be doing though?

Might be worth for others to call up their bank before they make the transactions if they want multiples before they put a block on it...

ps3ud0

I have a couple of cards, only got 5 months on one and the other won't work at all, think that must be the max.

managed to do this 6x,

tried a different card with another bank, and it wouldn't have it.

probably just a limit per account on how many times it can be used.

Cheers tho! :D

How do you get multiple months? Do you keep adding a 'credit card' and simply insert the same details again and again? Or do you add 1 credit card, complete the transaction and start again?

I just pasted the link in again and used the same card. Kept going through the process, same email, same card etc.

Unfortunately you have to call Microsoft to turn off automatic renewal.

and phoning them is one of the most painful customer service experiences i have ever been through !

and when i finally managed to do 'something' they cancelled my auto renewal and also my remaining few months :/ ARGHH
