Is any of you using the Asus X58 Sabertooth X58 SATA 3 Marvell controller with 2 Crucial Real SSD C300 64GB in a raid 0

If so what are your results?

As I am thinking of getting another mother board as my old Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 doesn’t support SATA 3

there are benchmarks of the vertex 3's on the rampage III extremes using the marvel controller on this forum, and while its not great, it is better than sata 3gbps, but faster than the c300's maximum read, so might be fine for that?
 
The Marvell SATA 3 controller is well known to be utter rubbish, especially with SSDs. I remember buying a different X58 motherboard specifically for it with my C300s in Raid 0 and getting worst results than the Intel SATA 2 controller.

So honestly, don't bother and either put the money aside waiting for Bulldozer/Ivy Bridge or get a Sandy Bridge setup instead.

Thanks did I bit more reading and I think I will stick with what I have till Ivy Bridge comes out later this /early next year.

I have a Vertex 3 on a Sabertooth X58 and it runs better on the intel sataII than the marvell sataIII lol
