Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

It's a continuation why break something that works so well and the trailers and teasers are all about the campaign which is a cinematic marvel that is only meant to wow anyway.

Expect 8 hours of campaign which is set piece after set piece we all bought MW/MW2 we all played it and I bet by the end we all thought "wow that was intense" before slipping in to that "gameplay was too short" "it's the same as MW" crap that gets so boring to read.

I say thank god they haven't changed it!

From a purely financial perspective and the position of the developer - I agree.

From the perspective of a hobbyist gamer who is wanting to get excited and stimulated by new titles, it's just disappointing.

I'm not bemoaning having to pay out for a very thinly veiled reskin of a game I've already been playing for over three years, but I'm really wishing that the time of these talented developers was put to something a bit more creative and interesting.

Funny you should say that, respawn (old IW) are apparently doing just that.

With the choice of titles available during the closing months of the year I'm sure that there will be plenty to play other than MW3 anyway. But I'm pretty sure 80% of my FL will be playing the MP side of the game.

COD will have to be something special for me to even consider getting this over BF3. I'm getting fed up of companies re-hashing 3-4 year old games.

I agree. I only got BOPS because I found a great deal of £23 (SOLD for £37 :p)on release day online. If it weren't for that I would not have bothered.

BF3 looks really good and I think I will actually do a first and miss out on the yearly COD series unless it is amazing or I can pick up for £23 lol. At this moment in time it isn't even a consideration.

The location of the dedicated servers and intercontinental matchmaking spoils BC2 for me. It really shouldn't be worse than P2P, but it can be and they've done **** all to fix that. I really don't see that being addressed in BF3

Never had a problem with BF2. Played like a dream online. Might have the odd lag in games but a switch to another game sorted it.

I find that very surprising, there where some very real problems at one point which went on for months and was fixed, but only to the extent that things were back as they were.

It's a game that really should be played on a PC imo, but I've never been happy with what I've spent on them and how they run.

Thanks for posting the trailers

Only 15 SP missions still seems short to me which was my main problem with MW2, let's face it though it could only have 7 SP missions and most people will still buy it :)

If you do all the SP achievements there's plenty of play there and given the time spent on creating it its rude not to play it more than once imo.

I managed to complete 2 play throughs one on Veteran within 2 weeks of owning the game and not being massively into multi player back then that was the game over for me - for what was then the biggest release of the year that was a massive let down for me

I reckon I'm going to have to really take my time with the SP this time around

The biggest let down for me was Price spoilers from his boastful **** voice actor via the Xbox dash video of the UK premier. I absolutely did not deserve that ;)

Although there's a lot of hate for MW2 / COD series, I did really enjoy the single player for MW2, had a reasonably good story (though not as good as COD4 of course!).

I will be buying MW3 as I'd like to see the story come to an end, and I really enjoyed the SpecOps mode too.

Multiplayer, I don't really care too much however I'm a casual gamer and I enjoyed MW2 quite a bit (however I never played COD4 multiplayer properly). If it's an improvement on MW2 then I'll be happy.

I'm an achievement whore, so I'll end up playing SP to death, finish SpecOps.

I'll be giving this CoD a miss along with most of the future CoDs to come - Just so boring now.
Only thing what kept it fun for me was zombies on WaW and BLOPS. I'll just be focusing on new *original* (kinda) games with fresh gameplay. Though that isnt saying CoD is bad, just too same-y.
Think I'll be picking up copies of U3, MGS: R, Rage and maybe Skyrim ^^

Enjoyed MW1/2 But the multiplayer and in Blops was abit cack, Ill get MW3 for the SP i may dabble in its MP but i think BF3 will be the MP game for me
