Righto then

I have a job and it makes me angry all the time. Incompetence and bureaucracy abounds.

I want to leave. sharpish.

Dont have anything else lined up. have a few quid that can cover my living expenses for a bit. i "live cheap" in a house share, etc, so a little goes fairly far.

I dont see picking up contract work as being too hard at the mo (i am in IT).

Has anyone in a similar position done what i am contemplating.... which, FWIW, is to hand in my notice in a couple of weeks.

You'll get a hundred replies saying "don't leave until you get another job sorted" - and that's generally the best advice. If it really won't be hard to find contract work then you won't have to stick it out much longer.

This, in exactly the same position as you, but am a waiter working part time to fund uni. Don;t leave till you've found something else, trust me it'll feel much better sticking it to them knowing you have a new job.

+1

It sucks. But i have enough inertia that staying is pretty easy. However, i'm not really one for safe-optioning my way through.
