Stephen Hawking - computer voice?

Is anyone else unable to read things by Stephen Hawking without imaging it said in the computer voice that talks for him?!
 
Yes, which is why he never has changed his voice, despite there being much better speech synthesis available. It's part of his identity now.

It's pure memory association. The more unusual a concept is, the more it associated with it's original context. For example, "Hello" is so commonplace it has no connections with specific people/places/objects, but "Good news, everybody" (especially with the picture) or the works of Hawking are unique enough to be strongly associated with one person.
