Will I regret getting a HTC Desire S?

I have negotiated a deal with orange and they have offered me a Desire S

It was delivered today and it looks juts like my HTC Hero

Will the Desire S last me 18 months?

The Desire was £99

I can get £61 for the hero at envirophone so in essence the Desire was £40

I'm just worried its not a dual core with a bigger screen.

seems a good deal to me at that price - £235 contact when the phone itself is around £300 new.
The desire's performance is good but there is a very noticeable performance hike compared to the sgs2 depending on the task.


How much could you get the SGS2 for instead?

Its an ok phone now and it will be an ok phone in 18 months, but if you're worried about dual core and a bigger screen I would have paid a bit more and got a Galaxy S II or HTC Sensation in a few days (Voda only though), they will last you plenty long enough.

The 'best' phone on Orange directly is the Atrix followed by the iPhone4/Xperia arc.

Third party places can do the upgrade for you too with any phone but you won't get a discount.

That will definitely be a better deal - faster, bigger higher res screen, 16gb rom, massive battery etc

Do it, the Atrix is decent.

I can't see it happening though, they'll want quite a lot more upfront I would imagine...

I got the Desire S for £99 and on Mobiles.co.uk the tariffs are similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II and nowhere near 7.50 per month

Everything is awesome compared to a 'Tocco lite'
