Im not really fussed what game type, conquest or rush. As long as theyre on normal and not hc. Think you and i had our own little private battle at a stage squark, was a good laugh.:)

I was a having a good bit with a guy at somepoint two medics, well my name was PuffAdder anyway from my old BF2 days hehe covered eachother and picked off guys trying to flank

Anyone have any issues with this game locking up with a random buzzing sound, reinstalled my B3 asus board recently and since then i can play for a short time before the game locks up and i have to do a hard reboot. Found a video online of the exact same issue im having:

Seems the only workaround is a seperate audio card :(

@Gerard, are you by any chance running msi afterburner? There was a problem with ab and punkbuster that caused a similair issue.

Wasnt that problem caused by running overclocking tools? I was running EasyTune 6 and that what was causing the lockups for me.

I used to get something similair with ab, though not since renaming a config file in the afterburner folder. When bc2 first came out, i also had problems with ob sound, switched to an add in card and it was fine.

This is the fix i tried, been fine for a few weeks now.

The best workaround in my opinion is one provided by Unwinder himself. That is, to stop MSI Afterburner from accessing certain low-level functions of the GPU by neutering it. To do so, all you have to do is navigate to the Afterburner folder and then rename "RTCore.cfg" to anything else (or delete it, but that's not recommended). Do this BEFORE running Afterburner of course. If you already have it running, you'll need to restart Afterburner. This will stop the freezing/crashing in BFBC2 while having Afterburner running, and will preserve your user-defined fan profiles. However, certain features may no longer work (like fan RPM monitoring, which is all I've noticed different other than a much more stable BFBC2 MP gameplay).

TL;DR version: Rename RTCore.cfg

When you get the sound buzz, does your whole system lock up as in the video? Also, does the game ever ctd on map loading screens?

Yeah exact same thing as in the vid, annoying buzzing sound and i have to hard reset. Only ever happened in actual gameplay so far never on the map loading.

Yep, it's a very intermittent issue, i was able to play fine some nights, others were a disaster, sound stuttering followed by a hard reset. That only happened a few times. Then i started to get ctd's on map loads between rounds.

The fix above has worked well for me so far, as the stock fan profiles on my gpu's are dire, i need ab running for the custom fan profiles ive set in it.

I get the same thing usually a couple of times a week but its totally random, it can be 3 times in a night. seems to only happen towards the end of a good round
not using afterburner ...
