6970 or 570 worth the extra over 6950?

So £200 for a 6959 seems like good value, but I wondered whether it made any sense to spend up to £50 extra for either a 6970 or an Nvidia 570. I know about flashing the 6950 to 6970 bit don't want to do it. Maybe te shader unlock at a push. Whatever card I get I would look at a moderate overclock.

Are these worth the extra over a £200 6950?

Nope, I would say the 6950 offers you the most bang for your buck.

Looking at anandtech, the 6970 seems to offer very little extra for the £50, less than 10% increase in fps at 1920x1080. 570 looks more impressive. Particularly in certain games.

would not the 6970 or gtx570 have the better min framerate though ? , if anything went wrong when unlocking the 6950 and you brick the card they would proberly know and refuse to repair/replace

I agree with 6950 2gb although it's a lot harder to judge cos the 560 is so much higher than stock speeds.

That's the point 570 overall is a lot worse graphics card, but in some games it has excessive performance.
