The chances of anything coming from Mars...

I'm now listening to the CD, also have it on the iPod because I'm just that bad ass.

Such a good album! If you get the chance and haven't been already I'd recommend going to see the musical. Must have been a couple of years ago that I went with my brother and it was amazing.

I have the multichannel SACD.....and the CD (twice) and the original vinyl album (complete with the book).

And it's on my ipod.

You win, only have the CD and the vinyl album :p

20 light years away, even if we do manage to travel at the speed of light it'd take 20 years to get there : /

On the other hand awesome find

I think if you travel at the speed of light you will get there instantly as time for you would slow to nothing, or something like that, but that's impossible anyhow. If you traveled at 99% you could get there in a few years.

Apparently it would take Voyager 300,000 years to reach it, which is pretty awe inspiring to consider just how far 20 light years is.

Yep, it does put some perspective on the distance.... However, I reckon we could have a probe there in 100 years if everyone wasn't so anal about letting spaceships use nukes. In fact, I give it my personal guarantee. I read all about nuclear bomb powered spaceships on wikipedia. They're awesome. Suspend the police imo (never seem to do much anyway), channel all monies into building a nuclear powered ship to go visit this place. We could launch it from Fukushima or something as well so if it goes balls up then it doesn't matter so much. Sorted.

^A little bit serious.

Hmmm... What about implanting the reactor in the ship after it has been sent into orbit... Safer for us!

[arnie]Get your ass to Gliese 581d!![/arnie]
