Just heard an explosion in London...

With the media scaremongering over Terrorist threats due to the Queen's activity today, it wouldn't surprise me if people all over London are running around the streets directing policemen to every discarded item in order to "defuse" or blow it up.

"Officer, there's a box there that nobody's holding!"
"It's next to a bin."
"I know! It's dodgy. BLOW IT UP NOW PLEEEASE! MY FAMILY, MY FAMILY!"

"Officer, that suitcase is unattended! BLOW IT UP NOW. DEAR GOD, MY CHILDREN NOOOO, WHAT WILL WE DO IF YOU DON'T GET RID OF THAT SUITCASE!"

"OFFICER - I THINK THAT HOMELESS MAN IS A DUMMY! HE'S A BOMB! BLOW HIM UP RIGHT NOW. OH MY GOD, THE TERRORISTS... THEY'RE GOING TO KILL MY CHILDREN OH DEAR GOD!"

^ Oh dear....

Inb4 conspiracy nutters. Or does that make me one, as I'm worried that there is a conspiracy group? Or am I even serious? What is going on? AAAAH :(

This did start a fair bit later but I wouldn't be surprised if what was heard was a test firing of something.
Tuesday evening will mark the now annual open evening at the Honourable Artillery Company – a regiment of the Territorial Army – based in a private oasis of greenery in the City of London between Old Street and Moorgate tube stations.

In addition to a fairly rare chance to go inside their old Regiment HQ and see the fine rooms within, there are usually a number of hardware displays around the grounds, including a tank, several armoured vehicles and usually a helicopter or two to sit inside.

The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) itself was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1537 by King Henry VIII, making it the oldest regiment in the British Army and the second most senior unit of the Territorial Army.

The highlight though is a series of displays by the Regiment, including the 17th Century Pikemen & Musketeers of the HAC; Guns and horses display by the Kings Troop, RHA; and a display by the HAC Band and Corps of Drums.

There may also be a “mock battle” which is very dramatic if they have that this year again.

Finally, there should be a parachute drop by the Black Knights, the Royal Artillery Parachute Display Team

Sorry chaps, I dropped the toilet seat :o

There's alway bangs going off in the City area.. With all the building going on it's not surprising. A pile of steel was dropped the other day in the new building near us.. scared the **** out of most of us.. I've been posting under the desk since!
