There's another well done baseball video out there where a cheer leader/ball girl wall jumps to about 15 ft up and makes a blinding catch.

you can tell its fake the ball completely changes the direction it was heading in...

i suspect the real ball was poorly edited out

no, you can tell it's fake by the CGI-appearance of the ball.
Otherwise, the ball changing direction is completely possible.

If the bat hits the ball off-centre it will spin as it flies through the air, and if the ball is spinning fast enough the ball could easily take the trajectory shown in the video.

Have none of you ever heard of a curve-ball?

When that happens the ball follows a trajectory determined by kinematics/analytical dynamics, the ball in this video does not.
