Bye Bye Red Team.......Hello Green team again!

At least he'll get to enjoy it, rather than having his monitor go into sleep/power saving mode during full screen gaming.

Never had any issues with ati drivers and ive had a few cards now. Dont get me wrong id gladly go Nvidia if they had something i was after but im kind of tied into ati at the moment for my eyefinity set up. I dont wanna have to go sli for Nvidias version. but downgrading/side stepping wasnt the answer for th op surely. sounds like a change for the sake of changing

The latest WHQL 270.61 drivers seem to be fine for most people with good stability, performance and image quality.

Might not have been the best option for the OP, but i would pay to 'side'grade from ATI at the moment.

I had previously used ATI cards, namely the Radeon 8500, 9700 Pro and X800 XT. Was never that impressed with the drivers so i moved to Nvidia, using the 7800GTX, then 8800GTX and 9800 GTX+ (when the 8800 died).

Currently i now use a Radeon 6970, which i selected because i required HD audio bitstreaming and Nvidia do not offer that on their high end cards. I do have another system here that uses a GTX570 but it isn't my main machine and it used by someone else most of the time.

My 6970 has no end of driver bugs. From AA settings not working in some games and being of poor quality in others, to the 100% GPU usage bug, to the mouse lag bug and the monitor sleeping in game issues. These are all ongoing after a number of driver releases with no words from AMD on when they will be fixed, and these are all quite widely documented issues on the 69XX cards for a number of users.

Oh, and also, that HD audio bitstreaming? AMD broke that in all drivers releases about 5 months ago too and you have to roll back to a HD Audio driver from around 9 months ago to get it working again. Lovely.

I have a 6970 and never had an issue, probably user caused

lol @ the blind loyalty towards the makers of peoples hardware

red, green...who cares? if a card is good from either of them then i'd show no loyalty or bias towards one company
