Dog put down today

Worst day ever. Had him 15 years. Little jack russell. Mum had to stroke him and keep eye contact with him whilst he was injected. Totally devastating. The poor little bugger had no idea what was going on. Has been ill for weeks.

Not sure why im writing this on the internet. Absoloutely horrible day. We are going to spread his ashes on top of a hill where he used to love walking.

RIP little chap.

I think many people here can relate to this, and it helps to type things out for some I suppose.

Sorry to hear of your loss, been through that myself and is why I tend to not want pets in the future.
 
My condolences OP :(

Lost mine last week, old age got her and she went in her sleep. We were days from taking her down the vet to be put to sleep she was getting so bad.

Utterly horrible feeling, losing man's best friend.

I'm not looking forward to the day we have to put ours down he's only 18months but has pretty severe hip dysplasia in one leg and they don't think it'll be long before it begins to cause him issues :(
 
I had to have my dog put down about 4years ago. I had him for 3years then I my daughter was born the one day he try to bite her i tried everything then one day he did bite and he had to be put down!.
I was gutted but it had to be done!.
 
The worst part is thinking about him lying there on the vets table whilst someone injects him with something that is going to kill him and he can do nothing about it. Its a horrible feeling. I feel so awaful for him. He used to be a complete nutter but he went downhill so so quick.

He had soft little ears and used to try and beat the crap out of the post man. Who wouldnt love that.
 
So sorry to hear that, I was absolutely devastated when my dog was put down. That was 6 years ago and it can still bring a tear to my eye thinking about it. I sat and held her in my lap as the vet did his thing. Lots of happy memories of her though.
 
So sorry to hear that. Losing one’s pet like this is horrible, I feel your pain. :(

You’ll be better tomorrow and remember he’ll always be looking down from doggy heaven smiling at you. :)
 
Sorry to hear you lost such a good pal :(

He had a good life! Think of all the times you've come home and his little tail has been wagging like mad. He <3'd you! haha
 
yup my kitten was put down a few years back.. fox attacked him.. :( when they were injecting him he was looking right at me right in my eyes.. damn it felt bad :S

Lost two cats in 6 months so know how it is. Just think what a great life they had while here, made it much easier for me to digest.
