Hey all

I setup my new system last month with the AMD 955 that I now have running at 4.02GHz on the stock heatsink (idle temp of around 40c)

I thought about getting a Asus Silent Knight II CPU Cooler as its only £18 with shipping.

Just wanted to know if its any good?

personally i'd get posting on the forums a bit before you order anything. if you get up to 100 posts you get free shipping because you've been a forum member for over a year.
(if your stuck for stuff to post, just head over to general discussion)

as for the cooler, i've heard its great for the price, but i havent had any first hand experience with it myself

oh, and 4.02Ghz on the stock cooler
must be pretty loud

Hehe thanks for the advice, I think I will try and get involved a little bit more :)

and as for the noise of the fan, I don't think a jumbo jet can match the sound of this lol!

got the same processor and cooler myself, and it was so noisy that i didnt even bother overclocking it

as for noise, you may find this site helpful: http://www.frostytech.com/

there are hundreds of reviews on that site of different heatsnks, displaying the noise of the cooler under load. unfirtunatly i cant find a page where it lists every single one of them at once in the table they have in their reviews (the table is around page 4 usually)

*edit*
heres the silent knight review page with the noise levels: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2260&page=3

for its cost, its pretty darned good noise wise
