Travel Sub-forum?

I'd be absolutely amazed if this hasn't been mentioned before - Is there any scope for getting a travel sub-forum up and running?

With the number of spec me a flight/holiday/what do I visit threads GD looks like the perfect home for travel. At least you’ll get a few replies to a thread in here.

As much as i think all these sub forums are a good idea the only problem i have with them is that not as many people will see threads in said sub forums because most people hang around in GD, not venture out of there and read most threads out of boredom but still give use full information.

If anything the 'On the Water' sub section should be renamed to 'Travel and Leisure' or something. But I also dislike lots of forum sections.

True but are they being posted in there because there is nowhere else for them? At the rate GD gets threads without any replies it would soon get relegated to 2nd or 3rd page in no time at all.

I guess I'm just musing having seen all the travel related threads recently.

It's a daft idea, people generally post travel related threads because they want recommendations from people who have been to that country. Most people don't have an explicit interest in travel so wouldn't look in such a forum. Because of this, people would miss out on recommendations which wouldn't be good for their holiday.
These questions are best suited for as wide an audience as possible.

That's a good idea. On the one hand we don't want too many sub forums, but then there is a "on the water" forum that currently has only 25 threads

Turning that one into a travel/vacation/trip planning forum would be great, IMO.
