New belt smells like fish.

So it didnt smell at any point before when you bought it, put it in the jeans, etc?

Some things fishy thats for sure.

Which is cheap......

This. A £18 belt sold in a high street chain will cost them probably £6 to buy in. Shipping and distributors and wholesales etc with their cut and the belt probably cost £1 to £2 to make in the Far East.

Pretty common, particularly with a dying method in denim. Some of them smell horribly fishy. Always best to check, even if it's a good whiff instore :p

Ok, I'm a student so £18 for a belt is quite a lot to me considering thats basically 2 nights out.

And yea it didn't really occur to me to sniff it in the shop, never really had this problem before. I would return it but I have removed all tags. So far I think I'll try the febreeze suggestion, or maybe the lemon juice one? I watched that program once where those two old women go and clean people's house and they seem to use it a lot.

And yea I'm pretty sure a girl didn't floss her beef curtains with it, thanks for the image though.
