6gb and 3gb sata slots

Hi,

I'm just wondering... There are two types of sata slots on my motherboard. White ones are the 6gb/s and blue ones are slower ? I just don't know which of them to use for my 6gb/s HD.

Looking at the Gigabyte Website it mentions 2 x 6gb/s sata ports which are probably the white ones and the 4 blue are the SATA II connections.

I would use the white ones for any 6gb/s drives.

If it's a mechanical drive then it doesn't matter which you use. It won't saturate either a SATA2 or SATA3 port, in fact it's unlikely to be able to saturate a SATA1 port.

on my mobo, there are two sets of 6gb/s and the difference is they use two different controllers, i heard the intel contoller is better so i plugged my drives into those

I think the blue ones are 6gb on my msi board. I can't remember.
