For the LOLZ - IGN building a Nintendo Cafe (Wii 2)

Why not?

Sometimes it's fun just to goof off. Besides, it does raise a few good points at the proposed specs of the console.

If they're accurate, I'm not exactly sure how much 'faster' it'll be than the current gen 360 / PS3?

Still, I guess it's all up in the air and rumors right now.

Reading that article it would seem that those specs are quite low indeed (From a noob perspective :p) but running Crysis 2 on Very high settings?? is that even possible?

It would still make the Wii 2 significantly more powerful than the 360 and PS3.

If we don't see sequels for the 360 and PS3 for 2 or more years as predicted by MS and Sony, and if these are the actual specs (lots of ifs), the next Nintendo console could be the definitive home to 3rd party software. That would be an odd turn of events!

It's the games that will make or break the console more than the hardware imo. Those specs are more than capable of running the most popular money spinning games such as CoD at higher detail than the current consoles.

It's going to be more powerful than the current gen, but not cutting edge. It's got to have a good entry price and not cost Nintendo. I think that's not a massive piece of guesswork

I'm really looking forward to seeing it running and the much touted controllers.

I 100 percent agree - and although a silly concern, I'm somewhat worried that in 12 - 18 months MS or Sony will release something twice as good for the same cost (okay, maybe 100 or so more) thus putting Nintendo firmly behind in the technical state.

I'll not mind, and I'm not saying that any details out now are that concencrete - hell, for all we know the 360 2 (the 720 :p) will be only the same as the 360 but with a better GPU, 1GB of ram and maybe quad core.

A native 1080p requirement for the games on the platform would be nice.
