Gaming mice, Gaming keyboard, Gaming mousemats etc

Big yes :) Or rather 'Good mice, Good keyboard, Good mousemats etc...' do. The term 'gaming' gets plastered on everything, its no more than a buzz word. Usually added to a poor product with lots of flashing lights and alike.

Less the case with keyboards/mice than headsets, tbh.

But seriously, going to decent gaming mouse and keyboard after using cheap generic ones is a great experience. Decent mousemats can be had for a tenner or less; more expensive ones offer little benefit.

So if I buy one of them mice i'll pwn at black ops. I'm fed up of getting killed all the time. Even when camping.

Depends.

IMO almost every "gaming" keyboard ever made is far inferior to a good basic mechanical action keyboard.

Mice is a bit hit and miss, one of the best gaming mice is the cheapy MS WMO 1.1a, but some high end "gaming" mice are also very good for gaming, and some of them very poor i.e. a lot of "gaming" mice have ultra high dps, but actually very poor, laser sensors.

Can't easily beat a good "gaming" mouse surface tho, some are actually made with feedback from real gamers and do give better response than your average surface.

If you're good at a game you can beat people using any old tat.

All you really need is equipment that functions adequately. No need to spend a fortune on gamer products.
