iPhone 5 - Sept 1st?

So I've just been in to phones 4 u to find out prices for an iphone 4, and thought I'd ask about the iPhone 5, the dude said its now been confirmed as September 1st. Is this correct? I was sure it's further away than that.

While it may well be September, that is probably BS. A P4U chimp wouldn't know that, and even if he did, he wouldn't be allowed to tell you.

I still think Apple will release a 4S/5 in 2-3 weeks time, the phone market is too tight for them not to do it.
 
Talking out of his **** I believe, Apple don't announce release dates until they actually release the device basically...

Yeah, I should have added, it could well be September, just nobody (apart from Apple :p) know yet...
 
Annoying as I'm in Canada now and would like to buy an unlocked 4. Going to be in university again so the cheaper 30 day simplicity O2 deals would be ideal over a standard 18 month contract.

Simplicity I want is ₤25 and a standard contract amount for what I want is ₤35.

1 Canadian dollar = 0.638581315 British pounds

So bringing my money home sees me losing a fair amount of it.

I have an old iPhone 3G that I really want rid of so I'm struggling not to pull the trigger. Halp!

Never trust anything someone at p4u, cpw etc... say. They have extremely large commissions from networks to specific handsets, their advice will rarely be truthful.
 
always do research before going into these stores, I saw o2 had an offer on a particular package and CPW was also offering the deals and a selection of phones I would'nt mind. So I walked in and told him what I wanted to save all the bul****ing they give and walked out 15mins later with my new contract phone :D. But you do get better deals online and I will be waiting to see what apple brings to the table before my next upgrade at the end of the year.

Thought september was the given, has there been new rumours etc coming out about release dates?
 
I don't think it'll be quite that soon, maybe 4-5 weeks but it'll be before September.

Well, until now every single iPhone has been announced at the WWDC at the start of June.

People are saying that it isn't going to be this time, but they don't know that for sure and in this market Apple have to keep up.

Still, we shall see.
 
i thought the official unveiling was in sept and the release date wasnt until november? got that in my head from somewhere but i dont know where it was.
