SEE THE RANGE

This may not apply to everyone or may not be appealing to everyone but I believe it can be essential to sleep easy ;).

We are bringing in a great new range of CCTV into Overclockers UK which can be mounted outside your drive to keep an eye on your expensive vehicle. The sad news is that vehicles do get vandalised and when there is no evidence, it can be very costly. We have a great selection of 500GB / 1TB / 2TB DVR's which come with either indoor or outdoor cameras which include night vision.

Even if you do not use the security equipment to protect your vehicle, to protect your home and family is just as important.

We will also be running special discounts in the future for the OcUK Motorists so watch out for special offers being run.

You can find all the the different cameras we currently stock at this link

I certainly would spend just a small amount to keep my goods safe :). Enjoy.

Stay safe.

Interesting idea and peace of mind for you, your family and your property has a small price to pay :)

Been considering cctv for increased security outside my property.
Would also save me from answering the front door to pesky salesman. Will be interested if the prices right.

Only the Sony camera says what sort of element it has, can i assume the rest is cheapo CMOS stuff?

To me its not that useful. Not many cars get broken into unless they are being stolen and if its getting stolen I don't really want it back. A friend of mine has CCTV fitted at his house and all it showed was how the guys using hoods manoeuvred across his back garden to attack the workshop before they ran off when the alarm sounded. Didn't provide anything other than something to watch.

It took my mum having her handbag getting stolen 3 times in 3 separate decades in 3 separate counties before she finally decided to take it with her wherever she went :p

Leave nothing of value in your car however and i think you are right.

Motion sensors with alarms are best, and anything with value put into a safe bolted to your wall in your own bedroom is probably the best defense.

Who has had experiences with IP cameras? :)

I do, and by the looks of things someone made a bit of a mess when placing products in CCTV sections on the website. In "IP Network Cameras Outdoor" section we currently find 4 products, and only one of those is semi-suitable to be in that section

Edimax IC-7000PT is internal pan and zoom camera, with no weatherproofing and no external mounts. It's more of a desktop thing. It shouldn't be there, because it will most probably simply get damaged in a rain when left outside.

Storage Options CCTV Outdoor Camera [52400] is a regular, analogue 420 TVL cam, not IP network camera

Storage Options CCTV Starter Kit [52403] is analogue 380 TVL cam wired to an SD card PVR , not IP network camera

Storage Options Pro Outdoor IP Camera [52109] is the only product that should be there, although manufacturer is very vague about specs and weatherproofing (ingress protection - IP**) rating (IP rating of course has nothing to do with the camera being "IP camera/IP networked", but the number indicates weather camera can be mounted outside, but under roof/shelter, or outside in very exposed to elements place).

Similarly, in internal IP cameras section, the

Storage Options CCTV Dome Camera [52401] - not an IP camera. Just a regular analogue 420 TVL cam.

Interesting choice of new venture for OcUK.

I believe it will be very beneficial for our motors users. I decided that we will have plenty of interest here for this sort of kit and as I said in the future will be doing special discount codes specially for the motorists of OcUK.
