HI

Will be going to New York soon to see my brother who works over there.

Got a week there so would like to know a few places any of you guys can recommend to visit ?

thanks:)

The Empire State Building
Madame Tussaud’s
New York Skyride
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Immigration Museum Ferry

Some of those?

Top of the Rock
Central Park
Go across to Brooklyn and get some photos of Manhattan
Take the Staten Island Ferry for an alternative view of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan
Try some New York cheesecake as well :)

Top of the Rock is better than Empire State.
Liberty Island is not that amazing, but the Ellis Island was quite interesting.
Central Park, you can wast hours wandering around there.
A show on Broadway.
Watch some live Sport, Hockey, Football, Basketball whatever you fancy.
Subway to Brooklyn then walk the bridge back, evening is best for shots of Manhattan (although they were working on the bridge walkway when I was there recently).
There are loads and loads of sites to see, Wall Street, Freedom Tower (building site), Grand Central, Madison Square Garden, FAO Schwartz.

Best bet is to break the city into sections and try and fit as much in as possible while strolling and taking in the ambience.

Grand Central hasn't been mentioned yet that I can see. Amazing building and some great food below it :)

edit: it has been mentioned :(

Huge Train terminus (like Euston) but its an amazing building and has some great food sellers down below.

hi again

well , i had a great time visiting new york and my family , the weather at times was a bit wet but i visited some great places including the rockefeller building and went to the top as they call it "top of the rock" and got some great views of the city.

visited central park, times square which is incredibly busy and also tried the best cupcake ever at magnolia bakery , also went to ground zero and the new freedom tower which is nearly complete and watched a show on broadway

Did not bother with liberty island as i got a good view of it when i was on a ferry.

oh yeah and there is nice walk which can be had on the high line ( old high rail line that has been coverted to a walkway)

cheers guys
