So i just came accross an article about Ahmadinejad accusing Europe of using powerfull technology to steal Irans rain by sucking it from the clouds and then using the rain on there own countries leaving Iran to suffer drought.

I do wonder if people in Iran believe this.. its surely crazy.

What does everyone think?

Topic/Opinion/Question.....I think i covered all bases here

as always when you see Iran in the title you may as well enter the thread with a facepalm on standby.

Did he at least end the speech with "Bazinga! You've fallen for another of my classic practical jokes"?

That Iran has not been a country notable for huge amounts of precipitation for centuries if not millenia has apparently passed Mr Ahmadinejad entirely by - unless Western countries have had advanced enough technology for all that time and if so couldn't they have turned it to slightly better use?

he can bloody have all the rain we get too much up here in Scotland!
Seriously though the guy is a nut, irans leaders are all a bunch of loonie idiots.

Technology needed is not too advanced tbh and cloud seeding has been going on for years.

If you think about it it's really not such a crazy idea, it would be a bit mean to try and starve a country of rain though but is that any less mean than say trying to cripple it's nuclear power projects?

They're clearly using the same tech on us then.

America, you listening? Give us and Iran back our rain. C'mon guys. We know its you.

He's trying to use prophecies in Islam and link it to their enemies. It's no secret that there are hadith of the prophet pbuh saying things like:

'Dajjal (The False Messiah/Anti Christ) will come to a people and ask them to follow him and they will respond (to him), and he will make rain fall upon them in abundance by which crops will grow and their animals will return with their udders filled with milk and they will prosper. He will then go to another people and ask them to follow him but they will reject him. He will withhold rain from them which will cause drought and nothing will be left of them and they will become poor.'

The technology definitely now exists.
