Rma'ing my phenom x6 bundle, and hoping ocuk will let me pay extra for a better bundle, or refund me so i can order something else

got a case, nzxt m59 for size for fitting cooler etc.
got hdd's, blu ray drive, gpu and monitor.

So all i need is a mobo, cpu, cooler and ram.

hoping to do some overclocking, and go down the road of a pre clocked bundle, as not that great at it myself.

cheers guys.

i5-2500K £150
MSI P67A-GD53 £110
XMS3 2x2GB £40
Hyper 212 Plus £20

£320, and I know you don't want to have to overclock it yourself, but MSI have this awesome thing called OC Genie where you press a button on the motherboard and BAM, 4.4GHz. Saves you a few bob.

Is z68 really worth the upgrade?

Didn't realise how much cheaper DIY was, knew it was cheaper, but not by nearly £100

If you need Virtu (switchable onboard graphics to save power while in desktop, and GPU accelerated processing), and Intel Smart Response tech (which uses a SSD as a fast cache for a hard drive to accelerate the most commonly accessed files, mostly, windows stuff). And some cheap Z68 don't provide all the features.

So mostly, not really. However, the Z68 boards aren't that expensive, but I'd still go with a GD53 if that's all you need.

£350 -> i5. £400, you can try in a i7 build, although again, overkill for most of the stuff. And you can get 8GB memory and so on. YOu can do quite a lot on £400, but the base would be a 2500K / 2600K, and a P67 / Z68.

Simpliest thing ever, the unlocked multiplier of the cpu makes it childs play, heres a guide using a MSI board,

Cool, just waiting to hear back from Ocuk about my current kit, hoping i can get this stuff ordered instead, would an oc'ed i5 outperform the phenom x6?

was hoping to clock the i5 to 4.0ghz if possible, maybe slightly more, not that used to oc'ing as my mobo bundle was pre clocked.

This is out the window anyway, as ocuk are saying i will only be partially refunded, due to me having it for over a month, not happy at all.

Aparrently, i've you've had something over 28 days, you only get a partial refund, which is utter nonsense

So congrats ocuk, that's another high spending customer you've lost.
