Hi All,

I am based on the edge of solihull and my roof aerial points towards the sutton-coldfield transmitter afaik.. But recently i have been getting the worst signal ever..

Just to give a brief description of what has happened..

About 5 weeks ago i lost ITV and similar channels.. (plus some other rubbish ones)
2 weeks later i lost all BBC channels (as well as some other i never watched)
last week BBC has come back but the reception is appauling and there is a large amount of digital signal breakup..

So i am now left with Dave, Dave-Ja-Vu and PickTV as my only watchable channels..

Now ive looked online and it states there is on-going maintenance at the transmitter but only affects analogue TV not digital. And afaik the switch over in Sept should make it a lot better not worse.. So WTF is going on?

Anyone else having issues and/ or know where i can find out whats happening.

Shh that's makes more sense now then..
Hopefully they will up the output power again soon as its terrible at the moment.

According yo that site film4 is in freeview.. I don't have it.
Any ideas WhY?

Film4's been on Freeview for years. I can get it on mine so presumably you should get it too, might have to rescan when it's transmitting (e.g. now).

I've never managed to get Film4 no matter how many times i rescan.. WTF is up with that? Do you know what channel should it be on?

If you get a really bad signal then that could be why: whenever the trees are leafy (:o) we would regularly lose channels.

It's on channel 15 and according to my PVR Frequency 746000 SID 27136.

Film 4 might not be carried by your transmitter, you can rescan all you want but if its not carried you wont get it.

http://www.digitaluk.co.uk fill in your details, tick your in the installation trade and check which Mux's your transmitter carries.

As an example I only get Mux 1 and 2 thus wont get film 4 and were fully switched over on our transmitter.

Or above link will break it down to which channels you should be receiving.

PS, you might not be on the transmitter you think is most likely, you could be running off a relay and you will find they carry less channels than main transmitters a great deal of the time.
