when i boot up games.. l4d2 counterstrike etc i would usually play in 1920 x 1080.. but at the minute it wont let me go past 1600 x 1200 4:3.. or 1600 x 900 in 16:9 widescreen.. the monitor is a native 1080p monitor :s and i have no idea whats going on! any one had this problem ?

when you open the video settings tab, where it says resoloution there is a dropbox underneath saying widescreen or letterbox or something with either 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 1080 is a widescreen 16:9 resoloution so click the 16:9 option go back to the resoloution box and 1080 will be there.

yeah i know, i usually play in 1080, but since ive been using a dvi cable instead of normal vga one there is no 1920 x 1080 option. the max is 1600 x 900 16:9... sorry about late post been away.. and ignorelol. wow that made no sense :s?

already is installed.. uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference.. monitor is listed under Generic NoN PnP monitor, not BenQ as before.. could it be the cable?

Worth a shot, try the old cable again see if it lets you use 1920x1080?

You using crossfire/sli? I've had this problem in some games with crossfire enabled.

Also what monitor are you using?

i used the old cable (vga) and its give me back the 1080 option.. :/.. strange! .. and nope just using a single 460gtx, monitor is a BenQ g2222hsl

dunno if its much help to you, but my LG monitor had two seperate drivers in the same package for vga and dvi. Perhaps look for something like that?
