New gpu

Hi there,

May I ask what resolution you will be running at and what the spec of the rest of your PC is? (especially the CPU and PSU make and model number).

Ah, in that case this would be the PSU I would go for.

As for GPU the HD 5770 is a good deal, but I would go with this one if you can afford it (here is how it compares to the 5770) and if you can stretch the budget any further then this one is well worth it (here is a comparison with the 5830) or this one if you would like an Nvidia card.

Thank you for the recommendations :)

Ill stick with the 5770 and buy the psu that you recommended

Just that money is an issue at the moment lol

If i can make some extra cash ill go with the other gpu

Can i ask what you think of this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-139-OK and how it compares to the 5770

thank you

The GTX 460 768MB you linked to is a good card -this chart shows how it compares to the HD 5770.

However, for the extra £10 the HD 5850 is a good option(if you can find the cash) due to the extra performance (have a look at this comparision between the GTX 460 768MB and the HD 5850).

I wouldn't opt for the 5770 as you'll find in 3 months time, newer games are not able to be played at max settings and for the extra £20-£30 (Even if it means saving up for a month) is really worth the noticeable difference. You will purchase the 5770 and wish you'd of got the higher end cards like the 5850, which I bought and am about to crossfire :) And also, that 5770 is a low profile card, as you may or may not know, so the outputs are changed so you only get 2 dvi-d and a small hdmi, correct me if I'm wrong

yes yes yes yes yes!!! it's like 1.1 working with 1.0 pci-e. What card are you considering to buy? After seeing how impressive the £20 more cards are!?
