Power supply 'squeaking'

Strange one, but my power supply seems to be churning out some crazy noises in the past week, according to my order history I have a Corsair HX 620W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-620HXUK).

Is it time for a new one?

If so, spec me a 'BF3 proof' (new rig, maybe crossfire) one please!

Likely a ballbaring gone in it. Are you 100% sure it's the psu and not another fan in the case? If so, is it under warranty? Corsair have a very good warranty system.

do you mean a high pitched squeak becuase that could just be the capacitors

Not sure but it could be capacitor squeal, it gets very annoying and there's not a great deal you can do about it AFAIK.

If you can work out which coil is squealing, a drop of hot melt glue on it should stop it

It stops if I play a game full screen..How strange..

Had my face in the case, 90% sure it's coming from the PSU.

%100 coil whine. Get it REALLY bad with my TX850v1

is vsync turned on?

if turning it on fixes it, its the gfx card

Just turned it off, no change.

The squeaking did go a bit mad when I loaded CCC though.
