i7 2600k - is it worth overclocking?

I'm not going to be playing high end games as such - just a bit of TF2/Brink. It will mostly be used for vector graphics and video editing.

Will I really need to overclock? I have an e2180 atm and have to overclock it to 2.95GHz just to play TF2 for example.

I dont see why I would need to overclock an i7, is there anybody that would for my needs?

If I were you I would overclock for the video editing

It'll take two minutes to get it to 4-4.4GHz, just change the multiplier and it should run fine.

Seems silly to me to buy a K, and not overclock it. It's just so easy.

Funny enough, ive just got the same CPU a few days ago and I wasn't going to bother OC'ing it, but this thread has convinced me otherwise.

K version chips are there to be overclocked and is so easy to do as EdwardTeach said "no point in buying a K edition if you dont overclock"
