Just had some Indian guy with truly awful english ring asking for my dad, saying that his PC has a virus and that they need to remotely connect to it to get rid of it lol. I read about the same garbage attempt at accessing someones PC on here a while back so thought I'd let you guys know that it still goes on.

I'm not surprised. I call people at work all day long and frankly I could be anyone gathering all the information I want. Your average office joe doesn't know and doesn't care much.

Be casually racist and say "I'm sorry, I don't remember ordering any curry."

Or is that actuall racism? The line...

I had it last Friday afternoon. They were from "Windows Support" and tried to get me to download TeamViewer so they could VNC in to my PC.

They also had me open Run and type in "inf", they said this is a list of viruses on the machine and they need to get rid of them for me.

Had this call Friday evening, wished I hadn't hung up now & strung them along saying yes I'm online now, what do I do next:p

Had one of these calls a month or two ago, I kept them going for so long I actually revived death threats from them and was told they were sending some guys to my postcode to kill me. :p

I had 3 of these calls in 1 day about 2 months ago. Didn't know they were still doing it.

I like the way they call themselves "The Microsoft Virus Prevention Unit" first time I heard it I so wanted someone to come round with a virus removal van and a firewall for a shield and a USB stick in the other hand. Would have been epic.... awww good times
