Just bought a gtx 580, hopefully make it to mine on Wednesday. Going to have to keep this one from the missus...

Never spend this much on a graphics card before, usually I go for around the £250 mark not £350 eek...

I look at my sig, been running one since Jan and pretty happy with it, using a Inno3D which was part of the Ocuk brand range

Nope got my Dell 2407 WFP

My rig felt a big sluggish while playing The Witcher 2 so I thought I would upgrade the graphics card then the rest of the machine once I have a little more spare cash.

dell 30 mate, probably the best hardware purchase i have ever made, obv a large investment but well worth it.

Nope not joking, I have resisted the upgrade itch for aaaages. Had a new job for a bit so now I can afford to buy some presents for myself.

I'm building my brother a PC around an i5 2500k so I'll try my 580 in his new machine and see what I'm missing out on.

Was debating whether to go for a 570 or 580 but I though sod it, I might as well get the best I can get now and not worry about whether I've should have bought the more expensive one.

Don't have that kind of money to throw around at the moment. Wish I did mind you as the 30" Dell looks amazing.

Surely a GTX480 for £200 and £150 towards a better CPU/motherboard would have been a better balance? Especially at 1920x1200. I use a GTX480 at 2560x1600, and it's hunky dory for full settings on most games.

You bought it now so its too late. But..
First your rig needs major updating before you graphics but you go and spend a relatively insane amount of graphics creating a needless bottleneck.

Secondly, you should be happy you got to best now but the price difference between a GTX570 and GTX580 is larger than the performance difference. The difference is not worth the extra.
