I was in town last night and ran out of money so went to the cash point as you do to withdraw some money. I chose to withdraw £30 but the cash point said we are unable to do this transaction please try again later.

I checked my balance again and it had withdrawn the £30 from my account but not actually gave me the money. I tried it again and it gave me the £30 that I tried but I'm still missing £30 out of my account.

I have been down to the local branch today to speak to them about it and had to fill in a form to say what happened etc and they should let me know in a couple of weeks what will happen.

Was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem and how did things go?

My Wife is a Bank Manager for Lloyds TSB, I can ask her when i return from work tonight.

Yeah that would be great although she may just say what i was told down the bank but thanks

I am a bank Manager for Lloyds TSB, if you send me your account info I can sort it when I return from work in an hour.

No offence but you could kind of guess why I wouldnt be comfortable doing this.

haha :D

You'll have to raise a dispute on account. You'll need to ring the bank quite urgently. It's normally not a problem as the machine reconciles the cash out but it may take sometime.

I rang them straight away. Good thing they have a 24 hour helpline.

Went in this morning and filled in an ATM dispute form

I've had nothing but problems with Lloyds. So much fraud they refused to give me a new account so i refused to pay and let it go to court. The Judge award in my favour, Lloyds had to pay me off, now with Barclays and not a problem.

HSBC other than a nice looking tart at the brand again a bunch of monkyes there

I've had my Lloyds TSB current account for about a year and a half, and tbh, I haven't had any problems.

I've had all kinds of problems with Halifail and Nat West. But Lloyds have been fine so far.

I imagine they'll be able to reconcile cash used against transactions processed, so you should be fine as long as discrepancies for the period correspond to what you're telling them.

This has happened to me before. I tried to draw some money out on the way to work and went to the bank after work and the money was back in. I didn't ahve to do anything.

Lloyds TSB also.

Ive had my current account for about 3 years and this is the only problem ive ever had with them :(

She said it could take upto a couple of weeks because they need to see if the ATM has more money in than what it should do to match my story.

Its happened to me where it hasnt left my account before this time it did for some weird reason. I dont understand why it would withdraw it from my account this time though when it wouldnt give me the money

ATM fault (or attempted 'modification' of the ATM - by fraudsters). This will show up when the ATM is reconciled, so you shouldn't have any problem getting your money back. Lloyds have been at worst mediocre for me, with sporadic goodness (e.g. refunding overdraft fees caused by me transferring £500 out of the wrong account).

As others have said once the ATM is reconciled the issue will be fixed - as long as you did the dispute form you will be fine, just give it a couple of weeks and chase up if no word.

Lloyds have been awesome in my experience!

Yeah well hopefully they'll be good with me. They have normally but never really had a real problem before.

And yeah i was going to leave it a couple of weeks and then chase it back up. I go on holiday in 5 weeks though so hope its all sorted by then

Just an update on this thread and for future reference if anyone has the same problem as me.

Just checked my bank balance today for the 1st time since tuesday morning and the £30 has been deposited back into my account. Acted quickly is getting me my money back, only thing that I am disappointed in that I didnt get a phone call to say it was all sorted out. Thought they may have done this to let me know just to say the issue has been resolved but all in all.... Well done Lloyds TSB :D
