% of non-disabled people who park in Disabled spots!!...

I never park in disabled or "family" spaces, but I do have a problem with the type/amount of people who get a disabled badge these days.

In 90% of cases if you're fit enough to drive a car you're fit enough to walk to the shop. The problem is the badge is a one size fits all but in reality very few of those eligible need it 100% of the time.

The family spaces are another matter and are put in place by the super market to be more family friendly (families spend a lot of money) rather than any obligation or caring sentiment.

You guys know some dodgy people - only 2 I know who use disabled spots have badges and deserve them. True about the family spaces though.

Nope i'm not buying that. The extra bays you are claiming are significantly smaller than the ones we see in shot, yet this 'perspective' doesn't apply to the zebra crossing. The one furthest away is the same size at the one closest so the space shouldn't be this much smaller than the obvious bay.

Not sure what you think I would attain from lying about the amount of spaces said monster truck is occupying, but i'll bite.

I have a blue badge for my son who is Autistic. Judging from his level of energy and fitness he could probably run a marathon. Still can't walk more than a few yards without massive meltdowns if it's busy public place. Disability is not always visible and you shouldn't be so quick to judge.

How does parking a few feet closer to the store help with anything to do with your situation?

No, these spaces are meant for parents with infants or toddlers. It's meant to give them more room to get kids in and out however, there are no set rules for it. Perhaps they pulled in and baby was asleep and decided to leave it there.

Stop trying to troll by turning anything around on the OP. You sound like a typical ocuk fool trying to sound big and clever by getting one over on someone else.

:p Over reaction much?

It was a reasonable post given he was having a go at people misusing disabled and parent and child spots when he was misusing one himself.

Not everything is trolling, its a discussion, people respond in discussions, its how forums work, so chill out son.

ok this is something i've always wondered, what about the walk around the shop?

or do you use one of those provided mobility scooters, or does having the trolley as a sort of zimmer frame help?

I always use the trolley as a kind of zimmer frame when I need to. It's especially hard to wheel one around and use a stick or crutches at the same time. Also, the distraction of shopping amid the herd of idiots that usually populates my local supermarkets helps to make you get on with it all.

Me too. You do get some strange looks when you take in a trolley for one or two small items, especially when you're a bloke in his 20s, but never mind. :D

What I hate the most is the Pacman effect, where you see someone you know.. say hi/bye and then proceed to bump in to them down every aisle where you're then forced to do an awkward smile or outright ignore them :D

He wasn't misusing the spot. There was a baby in the car and if he needed attention such as a nappy change then the extra space and proximity to the supermarket would have helped. He was being pre-emptive!

Haha, I saw a woman the other week I had sort of a one night thing with (long story, but she passed out in the taxi, yadda yadda yadda I was cleaning up sick all morning) im sure she saw me too and we were both avoiding one another but without letting the other know that we didnt want to meet, it was a highly stressful shop!

Technically he was, parent and child parking is for an adult shopping with the child under 5 with them (thats tesco's policy anyway). If the baby needed taking out he could have driven to a parent and child spot. Im not having a go at the guy, only it was a bit rich to be moaning about people misusing the spots while he misused one himself.

WTF? I read this as: I'm a taxi driver and had sex with a drunk woman so she didn't have to pay her fare.

The people who can walk around the store for an hour need the journey from the car to the front door reducing by 10m about as much as I do. The genuine disabled who need wheelchair etc I can understand, but not every Tom, Dick and Harry who currently have blue badges.

Spot on!

My brother in law had a disabled badge, he could walk ok, he looked fine. He had Bowel cancer, he would find that at times he just ran out of energy especially after doing the shopping or helping with the 3 kids when they came as well.

He died of cancer aged 34, i really didn't begrudge him his blue badge as he really did need it, it just never looked like he did to those who didn't know what was wrong with him. Too many people are quick to judge just by what they can see and without knowing the full story.

True I could have done this, but on a busy Saturday we had to drive around waiting for a P+C spot any way.

As I said before (which most have ignored) if they put spaces at the far end of the car park I would use these as long as the way to the shop was safe, not down the main routes. The ease of access is my issue not the distance. Let the fully able, non-child laden, lazy buttheads who want to park close do so.

I had a 18month old in the car therefore not misusing the space.

Too many people are quick to judge just by what they can see and without knowing the full story.

I was just commenting, I am no authority on disabilites, just that most of them were not "visibly" disabled. Which is surely the point of the extended spaces. Perhaps close and standard width spaces would help.

The plans don't tally up. There is no crosshatching on the side nearest to shop. That's a bit odd.

I assumed it was 4 all along, i just wanted to wind you up. :p
