LA Noire Spoiler Thread

Fair call. The last case I finished was the movie prop, car crash thing - pretty fun overall. I was pretty sure it was the guy early on but I screwed up pretty much every interview. The shoot-out at the end was a bit easy and quite unrealistic. I must have auto-aim or something on though.

My favourite bit so far was chasing some guy on a rooftop into a brawl, then throwing him onto the edge of the roof and punching his head onto the concrete. It got a lol from me.

Good idea, I'm not far into the game at all so won't be visiting this thread again for some time :)

Well I've just finished the game, so if you want to avoid spoilers - look away now.

END OF GAME SPOILERS

I've got to say I feel really let down by the last few missions. Basically with when you start playing the last couple of arson cases there seemed to be far less clues to find and the focus wasn't on interviewing folks, but on wandering around for a long time trying to find clues in burned out buildings. Playing as Jack it got even worse, and felt like cutscenes punctuated with the odd bit of walking/driving around.

The final set piece was even worse - pretty standard shoot-em-up style, then just killing off characters and 'oh the game i over'.

Up until the end of Vice I absolutely loved the game, but after that...

END OF SPOILERS

Has anyone else finished it yet, and if so what did you think of the last few missions?

Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to try replaying the whole thing again, or just to redo specific missions.

Just finished the Black Dahlia thing. The last bit is stupid. I don't know whether it's my screen but I couldn't see a damn thing in the catacombs. I literally had to shoot my gun to light up the way. :o

Oh well.. onto Vice I guess.. :p

Finished the game!

** Spoilers**

Don't really see the massive criticism of the ending, it was a little lacklustre but it's because it's following a story line and arch, it's not just being a cop anymore. What did you expect? Endless cases?

All the subplots and things had to be explained and had to come together, enjoyed the ending, made all the more bitter sweet by some of the people you see at the end.

I think the fact that the last 3-4 'cases' don't involve ANY interrogation. I don't think it would have been too hard to pep up the Jack sections with some more clue-finding and interviews, but it felt even more linear and like a bunch of cutscenes strung together with some driving/walking...

Working towards 100% completion. Finding all 95 vehicles will probably be the hardest part.

21/21 cases
35/40 street crimes
30/30 landmarks
33/95 vehicles
12/13 newspapers
2/50 film reels

81% completion.

I just finished homicide and I kind of liked that it all tied together, but my God the end of it all was crap. Following those excerpts to landmarks, and the stupidness of some of the things you had to do, it was just crap I thought.

The game is ok, but really is nothing special in my opinion.

If you're going for the trophy you need to complete certain fights without losing your hat :(

is it just me or does everyone get demoted to arson?

it just seems like i got demoted quite early into my vice career when i was just about to pull a confession. i was unsure if everyone goes through this?

Yup ending was just wtf, so much wasted potential. for example since they did not have a problem with you changing character how about a nice court case at the end or something with you as a prosecutor. but noooo same old console BS rambo action ending.

The game is very good up until you start playing as Jack, although most of the action sequences are repetative and and annoying. I totally nailed the identity of the Quarter-Moon killer after the second homicide case and was disappointed that I couldn't investigate the obvious link (even if I did use Genre Savvy to work it out!)

Anyone know who the bad guys (the guys shooting at Jack, not the firebug) were supposed to be at the end? There didn't seem to be any reason for them to be there.

I totally forgot about some of the cases as they were just boring.

Was the main guy killing all the bodies in homicide then? They never explained how all those people were murdered the same way especially when all the evidence pointed to the people you actually locked up.

Just seems like a complete mess.

And why wasn't the corruption resolved? I hope they aren't going to leave that to DLC because i'm selling the game :p

Possible spoilers:
Wasn't 'TEX' written on the bodies of a few of the victims? Tex was the name Jack called the flamethrower guy (Ira?) in the sewers.

I was a bit disappointed by the ending really. I'd quite enjoyed the game up until that point.

The ex marine with the Flamethrower is just the bloke who's been burning down all the houses for the Suburban Redevelopment Fund. You kill the Black Dahlia who was responsible for all the dead women at the end of Homicide.

EDIT: The only area which I felt was left unanswered was in Vice, the best part of the game IMO, would have loved to have actually taken out Mickey Cohen instead they never revealed what happened there :/
