Since I recently upgraded my wife's phone to a Samsung Galaxy S we thought we'd sell on her old phone.
It's a Nokia Express Music 5800

They really don't seem to go for much on EBay.
However the likes of Mazuma and Envirofone are offering around £50 for it.

Anyone used one of these companies before?
Did you have any problems?

I have used a few (>5) of them - the level of crap they try to push your way is "interesting" (eg saying it has scratches - i provide pictures - they get all quiet) and varies with each company. The bigger the company, the less they usually pay but they are the most seemless from my experience. I usually quidco+envirofone as a compromise between them being easy to use and not such huge ***** but their qc is now only £1 so you may want to up the risk/reward by choosing a lesser company.

Whatever you do, assuming it's excellent condition:

Send it via some method of recorded at least
Pack it in a lot of bubble wrap
Take pictures before and after it's wrapped up, especially of any known scratches/issues.
Do not let them give you crap, reject the offer if they say "oh its scratched let me offer you <bobbins>" etc...

Have to say I haven't found that at all.

I've used Mazuma and Envirofone and found the process to be very painless.
They even state on their website they aren't bothered by cosmetic damage, as long as the phone turns on and screen isn't cracked they will accept it.

Sold about 5 phones this way, maybe you loose a touch of money compared to eBay, but the process is faster and easier.

I've used both Mazuma and Mobile Phone Exchange and no problems with either of those. The 3GS I sold MPE *did* have scratches on the back but nothing was said.

I've used fonebank and the service was excellent. For your Nokia they'll give you £51 and if you go through topcashback an extra £3.

I sent my HTC Hero off to Fonebank yesterday. My mate did the same with his fairly knackered (albeit still functional) one and got offered the full amount, so I'm fairly confident I'll get the same seeing as mine was in much better condition.

Thanks for the replies.
The majority of the places are offering £50 for the Express Music 5800 which I thinks quite a fair price.
Wouldn't really get much more for selling it private - so I'll give them a go.

I've used Envirophone twice, things went smoothly although it took them over a week to pay me for my iPhone 4 which was a bit annoying.

I've used a few of them virgin paid the best, but you need one of there phones as the money goes onto your account and pays the bills off

I took my old 5800 to o2 two months ago and got about 65 pound for it.
It took 2 weeks for the money to arrive in my account.
